Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager will be reporting into the Head of Procurement and be key in supporting Volkswagen Group UK brands, Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen Group Financial Services, ensuring that all suppliers are selected and approved in accordance with the companies’ Procurement policies and procedures. In addition, you will play a key role in unlocking the value and opportunities presented through an established UK and Ireland Regional Sourcing Committee, linking in with colleagues in our sister brands such as Bentley, Porsche GB, MAN and Scania, to name but a few. You’ll need to be forward thinking and proactive, developing strategies and initiatives to ensure that cost saving and supplier performance targets are achieved or exceeded.

Responsibilities

This is a broad role and as a result you’ll need multiple skills and abilities to ensure that you’re a success.

• You’ll be working with purchases for large sums of money and dealing with complex commercial models, so of course you will need a keen eye for detail and strong commercial acumen.
• With the cross function and cross brand exposure of this role and access to numerous senior stakeholders, you’ll need to able to build strong and productive relationships to enable you to influence decisions and maximise value generation for the business.
• Furthermore, the role may have people management responsibilities where you will be responsible for managing the performance and development of a direct report in the Procurement team empowering them to deliver according to the category strategy.
